Member Spotlight: Jessica Klemens
For March, the Employment Network is shining the Spotlight on Jessica Klemens. As a Vocational Specialist, she loves helping people with disabilities find employment. She is a big believer in the power of networking and believes that everyone can work. We are so fortunate to have her as a member of the Employment Network.
What kind of work do you do? Where do you work at?
Jessica is a Vocational Specialist at East Shore Industries. She assists individuals with disabilities find integrated jobs in the community throughout a process of job development, temporary employment, and job shadows. She also offers supports on the job.
Tell us some good news: what’s the most exciting thing happening for you or for people with disabilities who want to work?
Jessica really enjoys watching her customers succeed. It’s very satisfying seeing people who are eager to work, obtain employment in the community and be proud of themselves for it. She says, “I am a true believer that anyone who wants to work CAN work with the right supports.”
What employment tip or resource would you like to share with people who want to work?
Jessica really believes in the power of networking. She points out that 80% of jobs are never even advertised, so people need to use their resources and connections wisely.
What’s your dream vacation?
Jessica’s dream vacation would be to go on a remote island and relax with her family.
Are you a dog person or a cat person?
Jessica is a dog person. She has a yellow lab named Mutzy.
