Member Spotlight: Danielle Skenadore
Meet one of our great Network Hosts, Danielle Skenadore. As a consultant for a company which supports many different types of organizations and providers in developing and expanding programs to improve lives for people with disabilities, she full-heartedly believes in the power of networking. Danielle encourages people to never give up on finding their dream career. We’re so fortunate to have her as an active member of the Employment Network!
What kind of work do you do? Where do you work at?
Danielle currently works as a consultant for Collective Insight, LLC. It’s a company that is available to support peer advocacy and peer support organizations, not-for-profit community-based organizations, for profit and not-for-profit managed care entities and providers, and publicly funded programs to develop and expand programming, design and implement meaningful engagement practices, and improve quality of lives for people with disabilities.
Tell us some good news: what’s the most exciting thing happening for you or for people with disabilities who want to work?
Through her work at Collective Insight, Danielle has had the opportunity to work in different states; she finds it encouraging to see incorporation of quality, integrated employment models within managed long term care programs around the country.
What employment tip or resource would you like to share with people who want to work?
Danielle encourages people to never give up on finding their dream career. She points out that finding a career is a journey and most people strike out a few times; finding out what doesn’t work is just as important as finding what does. “Keep an open mind, explore multiple opportunities and don’t give up,” she says.
What message would you like to share with the members of the Employment Network?
Danielle suggests that people stay engaged in the Network, recommend it to friends and colleagues, and share it with your local business association. She explains, “together, we can continue to grow meaningful opportunities for individuals who want to work.”
What’s your dream vacation?
Danielle would love to road trip with her family up the entire West Coast--from southern California to Washington State.
What are some of your hobbies?
Danielle loves to cook with her family; they also love to eat! She and her family have maintained a garden for the past four years, but she says they are still learning. This year was especially fun, as her two-year-old daughter, Nola, was able to join in.
