My reign as Miss Wheelchair Wisconsin 2000-2001 and platform "the consequences of drinking and driving" jump started my career as a motivational, inspirational and educational speaker. Today, I usemy platform to bring awareness and educate others on such issues as, drinking and driving, unhealthy and abusive relationships, living life after a traumatic injury, wheelchair accessibility and inclusion. My ultimate goal is to change the views of a society filled with stereotypes and misperceptions of women in wheelchairs and disabilities in general. "I am using my experience to empower the human spirit and inspire others, disabled or able-bodied, to discover their own inner strengths.
